It’s the new year, and that means that a lot of people are working on setting new goals and establishing new habits. This always excites me because it’s a great time for a fresh start!
It’s not necessarily about the goals themselves. I read something Phylicia Masonheimer had written this week that said, “Goals don’t change us. God does.” That is absolutely true, but I do believe that goals do help us to steward the time and resources that God has given us well. We have been given everything we need to succeed and so I believe it is up to us to use those things well. I believe that God honors this, and when we prayerfully set our goals with His will in mind, we can definitely find success in those things. Not success in a worldly way that gives us all the credit, but success in God’s eyes where He is glorified every step of the way.
I know that, personally, if I don’t set goals for myself and intentions for how I want to live my life…
then, it usually means I do nothing. I become quite lazy. I go through life by winging it and just doing the bare minimum of meeting the needs of my family and whatever else is required of me.
But on the contrary, when I have a plan-
When I have goals set for all of the areas in my life that REALLY matter?
I wake up each day (quite early, I might add) and hit the ground running towards those things God has for me. My days are filled with purpose. Purpose that God is showing me pieces of every single morning as I meet with Him. Purpose in my home. Purpose in my family. Purpose in every single relationship beyond my home. Purpose in my business. I live my life, fulfilled, knowing that I’m doing exactly what God has for me with each and every day that I write a to-do list or make a plan. Those things are for the big picture Purpose… not just my own satisfaction. (Although, I really do LOVE checking off those boxes too!)
So, are you ready to grow and progress in your life?
Are you ready to live you life with purpose?
Are you ready to use all of the things God has given you and steward them to the best of your ability?
Let’s start by setting a goal or establishing a habit.
It doesn’t have to be a long list.
It doesn’t even have to be multiple things.
Just start small. Choose ONE area. One goal. One intention.
Then, break that one down into mini goals or starting steps if you can.
If you don’t know how to do that, I would absolutely LOVE to help you!
Yes, it’s true that many don’t make it past the wishing and hoping part of goal-setting, and maybe you’ve thought to yourself…
“Why even bother? I never follow through with my goals anyway…”
Friend, I’d really like to change that narrative for you.
I REALLY want to help you!
I want to teach you the methods and strategies I’ve learned for setting goals, sticking to them, AND actually reaching them!
I want YOU to learn what it feels like to stick to a habit and reach a goal.
Then, you’ll be so excited that you’ll want to set and reach another one.
It’s a ripple effect. I truly believe that God wants you to live your life, feeling capable and confident that you can overcome every single obstacle that you’ve ever come across. You can do so much more for his kingdom when you live that way.
It starts here. It starts now.
I would absolutely love to help you set a goal and figure out your starting steps and a way to track your progress that works for you. Let me know if that’s something you’re interested in, and I wish you all the best this year!

This is all part of a plan I came up with for myself… to take care of myself. The logging meals and weighing are just a part of holding myself accountable and keeping things in check. Logging meals has really helped me to see the foods I’m putting in my body and weighing each day shows me how those foods affect me and either help me reach my goals or don’t. I had my scale put away for a long time because it used to upset me when I saw no changes time after time. It’s just been a long process for me of learning what works for me and what doesn’t. Life has changed for me quite a bit since I lost weight the last time. This is just me tracking the data as I’m going along, and it excites me now instead of upsetting me.Continue reading, note-taking, and journaling through the book I’ve been reading through this year, In Want and Plenty by Meredith McDaniels.
